How do I become an honorary member of the Association?

In our standard membership, we do not impose strict requirements on candidates beyond their alignment with the organization’s core profession. However, for the status of "Honorary Member," different criteria apply. To attain this designation, a candidate must meet at least four out of ten specified criteria and be recognized as an expert in their field. The official guidelines and detailed criteria can be found in the dedicated section via the provided link.

1. Recognition and Awards

The candidate must have won or placed as a finalist in an independent, reputable competition relevant to the IT industry and the candidate’s specialization. The competition should not be limited to specific groups; for example, student contests are not eligible. We also consider hackathons and other awards where the candidate contributed as part of a team, provided they can demonstrate that their contribution was pivotal.

2. Successful IT Business Creation

The candidate should be a founder or a key contributor to establishing a successful IT enterprise. Merely joining an already successful company in a key role does not meet this criterion.

3. Research and Development

The candidate must be an author or principal contributor to significant research or development projects that have advanced the field. For instance, if you are a developer of a widely used library, providing a link to the repository along with proof of your involvement is sufficient.

4. Leadership and Responsibility

The candidate must demonstrate holding or currently holding an important position within an organization with a strong reputation in the IT sector. For us, leadership roles such as team leads or senior engineers are considered significant, especially within companies with revenues exceeding one billion rubles (or equivalent in other currencies).

5. Mentorship

The candidate should provide evidence of mentoring or training other professionals in their area of expertise. This can include involvement in coding schools or guiding colleagues within project teams.

6. Consulting

The candidate must demonstrate participation in evaluating or reviewing the work of other specialists within reputable organizations – such as performance reviews.

7. Publications and Presentations

The candidate should have authored a substantial number of professional articles accessible publicly. Examples include contributions on habr.com or speeches at recognized conferences.

8. Judging Experience

The candidate must have served as a judge at reputable competitions or within authoritative organizations.

9. Income from Professional Activities

The candidate should demonstrate earning significantly higher income than peers within their country or region.

10. Notable Recognition

The candidate must prove they possess considerable recognition within the IT and software development community.
